Thomas Champagne, TMI’s 2011-2012 Emerging Artist of the Year
Thomas Champagne is from Austin, TX,and has been The Music Initiative’s emerging artist for the past year. During his residency with TMI he released a new album, Life, traveled across the southeast for our TMI’s 2011 SEC Tailgating Music Tour sponsored by Palmetto Cheese (see the music video below!), was featured in a 2-page spread of Found Magazine (formerly The Music Initiative Magazine) every month, and embarked on a national bar tour. His up-beat, catchy, reggae sound is perfect for the Charleston music scene and he has actively become a part of it. The Music Initiative staff has seen firsthand his musical evolution this past year and now has a better understanding of the working musician.
