Brave Baby
Get your planners out, you’re going to want to write this down. Brave Baby, Elim Bolt, and Octopus Jones will be at the Charleston Pour House for Brave Baby’s Forty Bells album release on January 17! If you haven’t heard any of these artists before, go to Fingertips Favorites Top 20 countdown and listen to no. 18 (Elim Bolt) and no. 20 (Brave Baby), but also keep reading.
They say that an ending is really the start of a new beginning, and Brave Baby proves this to be true. Who would have known that one band’s ending in 2008 would eventually lead Keon Masters (vocals), Ryan Patrick Zimmerman (producer), and Christian Chidester (guitar) to reunite in 2010 in Charleston, SC, and begin forming what would become Brave Baby. After some additions and deletions to the lineup, Jordan Hicks (bass) and Stephen Walker (keyboard) became permanent additions.
After spending many, many hours in the storage unit/ recording studio of producer Zimmerman (who also happens to be one of the biggest indie-rock producers in the Southeast), the band is finally ready to release their premiere album Forty Bells under independent label Hearts and Plugs.
I’ve listened to “Living in a Country” on repeat for the past hour, and am, without a doubt, looking forward to the release of Forty Bells. You can find Brave Baby on Facebook, Twitter, Bandcamp, Fingertips Music, AND at the Charleston Pour House January 17, 2013 for their album release! Don’t miss out–these guys are sure to be fun.
