Sherman Helmsley passed away today at age 74. Although he was well-known for being an actor, first for his role on “All in the Family” and then on “The Jeffersons,” he did touch the music world. “The Jeffersons” has a distinct themes song; “Movin’ Up” was co-written and sung by Janey Du’Bois, who also happened to play Willona Woods on Good Times. And did you know Helmsley also was a professional singer and released the single “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head” in 1989?
